Our main areas covered are in the northeast but on occasions we do work out of our local area so there for feel free to ring if not in our local area.

Decorator's Color Wheel Use this to determine the color you want. In the center are the primary colors - Red, Yellow, and Blue. From these, all others are made. In the inner ring are secondary colors - orange, green, violet, made by mixing equal amounts of primary colors. Mix red and yellow for orange, mix red and blue for violet, and mix blue and yellow for green. In the outer ring are the tertiary colors - achieved by mixing varying amounts of one primary color with the adjacent primary. Mix a large amount of red with a small amount of blue and you will get a red-violet color. Do the opposite for blue-violet. Increase or decrease amounts form many hues in between. White is an absence of color and black is a collection of the three primary colors in intense form.

PAINTERS & DECORATORS ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

Admittance to membership shall be conditional on the applicant firm satisfying the following minimum requirements:-

A Proprietor or a Principal of the applicant firm must:

1. (i) Have satisfactorily completed an apprenticeship under the National Joint Training Scheme for Building Operatives (Painting & Decorating) and have gained the City & Guilds of London Institute Craft Certificate and where applicable, have passed the CITB Skills Test,

OR

(ii) Provide evidence of having been employed as a Painter and Decorator for a continuous period of not less than five years.

2. Provide evidence of trading under the business name for not less than one year.

3. Meet the professional requirements of the Branch or Region to which application is being made.

4. Provide not less than two separate references from recent customers.

5. Undertake to abide by the Association’s Code of Practice.

Or in the case of a firm where the proprietor or principal is not a professional painter and decorator (e.g. Surveyor, Accountant etc.) the firm must undertake to employ operatives who satisfy the criteria of paragraph 1 and comply with paragraphs 2 to above.
